Background
The heir of a long tradition of leather working
dating back to 1824, Hervé N. began learning
the art at a very early age. His first training
came from his father, who had set out on
what was to become a career with Hermès in
1946.
He joined forces with his father in 1987,
gaining his own experience as he benefited
from his. Exclusive subcontractor to the
prestigious Parisian firm, he sewed diaries,
change purses, and handbags, before moving
on to dog collars, leashes, and bridles.
He worked with a wide range of materials,
including box and willow calf, lizard, crocodile,
ostrich and bridle leather. Hervé learned
much over the years, but the desire to create
his own models grew. Finally, after 17 years
producing exclusively for Hermès, Hervé decided
to branch out and create his own belts, jewelry,
dog collars and leashes, drawing from his
father’s wonderful collection of vintage
buckles and ornaments.

The leather and the buckles
These equestrian buckles and ornaments ,
dating back to the end
of the 19th and early
20th centuries, are not
only beautiful and
rare, they will last beyond
a lifetime.
Hervé N. has chosen to
combine the enduring
appeal of these objects
with the nobility
and sensuality of vegetable-tanned
leather.
Tanned in pits or vats
with extracts of chestnut,
mimosa bark and quebracho
(a South American
tree).
Most of the leather goods
you find in stores
are made of split hide
and lined to make
them more rigid. With time,
cracks appear
in the leather. The leather
used here is
vegetable-dyed, full-grained,
and that is
why it maintains its beauty
as time goes
by. This type of leather
is 100% natural.
As are the linen thread
and bee’s wax Hervé
uses in hand-sewing, and
the stain made from
walnut shells and gum arabic
that he applies
to stain the edge of the
leather.
The collection
A collection of custom leather accessories
of timeless elegance. All creations are handcrafted
using centuries-old traditional methods.
Instantly recognizable to the connaisseurs.
